IN A GOOD WAY! This isn't a book you can just ...

I'd been wanting to improve my 3/4 playing for sometime.While navigating drum books on Amazon I came across Andy Ziker's "The Jazz Waltz". OMG is all I can say about it!! Andy's come up with an incredible amount of patterns/combinations to master.This book will stretch your 3/4 Jazz drumming significantly plus your independence capabilities.Truthfully, the one measure long examples will humble you...IN A GOOD WAY! This isn't a book you can just blow through turning page after page.I practice from this book a few times daily.I look forward to my time in my drum room a lot more thanks to this publication..carry on-TR

Solid jazz drumming resource

Andy Ziker has provided a great resource on developing the jazz waltz. In addition to numerous independence and soloing exercises, including a section on brushes, the book also includes a generous selection of soloing and time-keeping transcriptions from a wide variety of jazz greats. A CD of play along tracks is also included. Highly recommended.
