Heartwarming, Quick, Holiday Romance

This story sounded so poignant and heartwarming that I easily snatched it up for one of my holiday reads. One man is living on borrowed time and another doesn't see the precious nature of his own time until they are stranded together in a blizzard.
Trevor is an artist and a man who has learned to appreciate the zest of life now that his own life may be coming to a close. He needs a kidney transplant and has waited for years. Now, he is down to his final opportunity and the doctor has briefed him on his choices of trying to stretch it out with dialysis or going off dialysis to make it quicker. So, when he can't get a flight out to his family and is given the opportunity to be with a man who is the first ever to light up his life, he takes it. But it is just for the here and now.
Marc is a successful lawyer and lives for his work. In fact, that's all he has because his family put him aside when he came out and he can keep a relationship with his hours. His assistant finally tells him that enough is enough. Go and live a little. A blizzard that strands him in a hotel gives him just such an opportunity. He meets Trevor and the connection is instantaneous. In fact, he opens up to Trevor like he has never done only to have Trevor pull back and insist that whatever they have can only be for Christmas. Trevor lights up his home and brings Christmas to his house for the first time. He makes Marc want to try at life. Marc will never be the same. How can he let this man walk out of his life?
This was a story that grabs the emotions from the beginning knowing that Trevor may not live and Marc has never started living. I was cheering for these guys with all my being before they even met up. The story is a shorter length, but the author introduces engaging characters, a strong holiday setting, and a plot that is very much emotion and character driven.
The romance is a love at first sight, but I tend to be more forgiving of that in my holiday stories. There is a lot of sugar, but it is tempered by the hot spicy times between these two. They both really come to life together and it was beautiful to read.
All in all, I enjoyed this one for a quick afternoon read. I can easily recommend it to those looking for feel-good m/m contemporary holiday romances.

Definitely a must read, I devoured it in one setting, just could not put it down.

What if one night, one chance meeting could change your life? Would you take that leap of faith if you have already convinced yourself that none of it matters? That is exactly the choice Trevor Morrison has to make. Trapped at a local hotel during one of the worst Blizzards on record, Trevor meets Marc, and enigmatic Lawyer with mesmerizing green eyes. The attraction is mutual and immediate so they decide to enjoy each other for the night. But when the sun comes up, Marc finds himself wanting more than just the one night stand that was agreed upon. Trevor is adamant that it's not possible, but when he can't find a flight out and faces the possibility of spending Christmas alone, Marc jumps at the chance to take Trevor to his home and show him what it could be like if he would only say yes.
I really enjoyed the strangers in the night aspect of the story and the chemistry between the characters. While there is a heaviness on Trevor's shoulders because he is facing the very real possibility that he won't find a donor in time, that he will finally succumb to kidney failure, Chase balanced that level of sadness with love and passion. Marc wants Trevor in his life, but more than that, he wants Trevor to live and he will stop at nothing to ensure that, even if he doesn't remain a part of Marc's life.
A variety of emotions played out in the pages of this story. Angst, passion, sadness, determination and love. It was well written, well rounded and wonderfully conveyed. Definitely a must read, I devoured it in one setting, just could not put it down.

Heartwarming holiday read

I saw the cover and I barely read the blurb, but I had to have this book. Once I bought it I couldn't wait to dig in. I loved the story, and as person living with CKD, I think the author did a good job at researching Trevor's disease with what food and drink restrictions you are faced with and how Trevor would feel during ESRD, end stage renal disease. This story hits close to home for me and at times it broke my heart to read this.
I usually don't care for instalove, but every now and again you come across a book where it works. This was one of those. Trevor and Marc meet and it's instant lust. The chemistry was electrical and the sex was smoking hot. I loved this book. It's a sweet and romantic holiday short, that left me feeling the warm and fuzzies.
