Quem comprou esse livro fui eu, Marcela, pela conta do meu pai Manuel.

Livro extremamente interessante para todas as pessoas que querem entender quimica e biologicamente o que acontece no seu corpo quando vc faz diferentes tipos de exercicios com o objetivo de perder gordura. Muitas pessoas nao entendem a diferenca entre perder peso na balanca e reamente emagrecer, e esse livro diferencia bem as duas coisas e prova de uma vez por todas que aerobicos nao emagrecem como muitas pessoas podem imaginar. O grande diferencial pra mim sao todos os testes clinicos que o Paulo apresenta no livro (com todas as referencias, entao se vc duvidar pode pesquisar). Ele nao se baseia apenas no conhecimento dele e na sua experiencia, mas sim em testes reais realizados/publicados pelos mais diversos autores ao redor do mundo. Eu realmente fiquei impressionada com a quantidade de testes que ele apresenta no decorrer do livro.

Este livro pode se mostrar util para muito pessoas que estao fazendo dieta, se matando por horas na academia e mesmo assim nao veem resultados pq nao fazem musculacao. O unico "defeito" pra mim eh que o livro eh mto claro no que nao funciona e no que vc nao deve fazer, mas peca em te apresentar um plano claro do que fazer para atingir seus objetivos - provavelmente emagrecer para 90% das pessoas que compram o livro. Isso vc encontra no outro livro dele, "Bases Cientificas do Treinamento de Hipertrofia" que tambem comprei e estou lendo agora. Deixarei uma review quando terminar.

About the Author
I am a writer as well as a professional editor. My diving into writing started way back in 2006, after failing Sophomore English in high school, both semesters. During summer school I ended up with a teacher who twisted his rhetoric slightly to incorporate a section on "Creative Writing" something that I had never experienced before then. I instantly fell in love with writing and my stories since then have never ended. Six years after that fatal 21 days of summer school and I had flipped my entire world upside down. I went from a prospective business major with AP Calculus, and AP Physics in his Senior year of high school to a graduating English Major in 2012. I literally made it my goal to turn English from my (by far) worst subject to my best, spending countless hours in "self-research" mastering grammar, sentence structure, details, and description. I continued to fail in English despite this, scoring "below average" on the College Entry exams and being forced to take "Pre-English" classes, even failing the first Pre-English class and taking another. I Also failed the WPA during my third year of college, making me take two more classes. Even so by the end of it all I had maxed out my English credits with my degree and graduated with a 3.3 overall GPA (3.7 in upper division English). Now people come to me to learn how to write, and I work as a Professional Editor. Ironic how things switch around. To-Date I have written several novels, starting with "The Human Xenocide" which is not yet published. I dove into Erotic Fiction back in March 2012, publishing I Survived the Witch (Freelove Series) shortly after. As of now I am working on book two of the Freelove Series. I plan to continue writing and hopefully publish more erotic novels as well as my non-erotic, probably under a pen-name simply because I'd rather not get the two types of writing confused.

Exceptional !!!

First off, I would like to say this is an amazing book, very well written and intense in every way that I like. This book is unique, a one-of-a-kind and I would certainly recommend this book to anyone who is into fetish erotica.

The basic idea of the plot: pretty much Alice gets taken by a strange green man to some underground mansion, bound and held hostage. The Witch, master of this underworld (not called that name till much later) meets her and teases her with an electric rod. When Alice becomes aroused it turns the Witch off, who gets off by forcing girls into sexual lunacy - she doesn't want girls that actually enjoy the act, least not at first. Alice turns out to be a dirty girl who watches way too much porn and is obsessed with fetish sex (even though she herself never dares to participate in it, even alone). So all the things that happened (and will happen) to her are fantasies she never could have.

Using her wits and unusual calm in her situation(s) Alice escapes her initial bounds and beings roaming the grounds, everything and everyone she meets wants to have sex with her, some forcing her into it but some she does willingly figuring sex would be better than being called out by the person asking, and thus ending back in the Witches hands. Most of the people and creatures she encounters get broken "second helpings" to the newcomers, so catching a "freshie" is a big deal--they rather keep Alice to themselves or just have a little fun instead of returning her to the Witch and thus "breaking her". She angers a few people, scares a few people, and gains the respect of others. Friends, foes, companions all show themselves - all tools in her eventual escape - it's not told how she escapes only that from the very first page that she's retelling this story after she had escaped, that she will escape. This is a story of her escape after all.

As a reader I was trying to connect the dots, how every sex partner she came in contact and would help her during a second book. This first book was just a set up--introducing the world and the characters in it. Now figuring out how all the pieces complete a puzzle, I'll just have to wait for the second installment.

But enough of praising how amazing this book is now, let's look at the hard facts; this book is NOT for everyone, and NOT for the lighthearted. My fingernails are gone and my heart now beats at a slightly faster rate.

Now, when I said the book isn't for the lighthearted I mean there are scenes that get pretty intense, expect light gore, less-than-perfect (in appearance) characters, and even on a few occasions death. The story also goes through various fetishes some including electric torture, absurd amounts of come, clit enlargement, BDSM, eggs, vines, wolves (more like werewolves), vore, and dual penetration. These events are shown in a combination of the main character having it happen to them or watching it happen to others. So scenes will vary between first person and a third person perspective.

That said, this book is still quite amazing the sex scenes describe every gooey detail and the word variety is exponential, and I absolutely love reading Alice get screwed over and over, filled up repetitively by everything she comes in contact with, and every time I feel a scene was the cream of the crop the next one topped it.

Summary: totally worth the purchase if you like fetish sex. Be prepared that once you start reading this book, you will not put it down until it's finished. It has had a copyedit to fix typos and other flaws that were required but not relevant to the story's content, minor detail though. Still a 5/5 in my book.

Needs a proper edit

I am familiar with dark & fetish books and was intrigued by the plot of the book. I was extremely disappointed in it and almost couldn't finish. The author gives fair warning of the content, however the content does not flow in a coherent manner and the scenes described are awkward and often left me confused trying to figure out what was going on and what exactly was being described. As for the dark and disturbing context alluded to by the author? Yeah, not so much. Above all however, is the numerous grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors. On the positive side however, great cover!

Honestly,I LOVE a disturbing book especially eroticas but this...
was absolutely gross!Disturbing does not even begin to explain this book.I wish I could unread this whole book and be back to normal.

About the Author
John was born in Miami, Florida in 1970. He grew up in the Tampa Bay area, but attended the North Carolina School of the Arts, in Winston Salem NC, for High School. He attended Florida State University and got a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University. In August of 2007, he took the plunge. John had been a social worker in child protective services for far too many years, and had been toying with the idea of being a writer. He had written for a few national magazines and received positive responses for his work. He decided to quit social work and took a chance at writing full time. Luck was on his side, as his first year he was signed to write seven books for Atlantic Publishing Company. Since then he has been writing for a number of magazines including Herb Companion, Precognito, and Winemaker Magazine as well as freelance work to create workbooks, ebooks, articles, ghost write books, blogs and much more. He is now working full time filling requests and hope to get some fiction completed and published this coming year. He freelanced for the New York Times, Bloomberg News, and Reuters. He is working on an upcoming book about his adventures covering the John Edward's trial."

A toast to wine lovers!

Being a wine lover, I just had to read this book and I wasn't disappointed. Packed full of interesting stories and advice from amateur wine makers, it answered just about any question I had (or didn't even know I had) about winemaking. The book carefully guides the reader through the winemaking process from the equipment you need (and why you need it) to 10 troubleshooting tips in case things go awry ("my wine smells like dirt or "my white wine is turning red").
After reading this book, the most surprising point to me is that you really don't need a ton of equipment or huge barrels in your basement to make a good bottle of wine. You can even use buckets (just make sure they are sanitized).
Selecting the ingredients is where the fun begins. The author, John Peragine, provides recipes using everything from frozen concentrate grape juice and sugar to rice and raisins. Just as the title eludes to, there are some wild wines to be created -- made from fruits, vegetables, grains and even flowers. Some of the recipes are surprisingly easy and others are more complex, but they all give you precise step-by-step instructions.
I feel like I've become friends with Peragine and if I knew his phone number, I wouldn't even hesitate to call him for advice in the middle of the process! But, I probably wouldn't need to, because I'm sure the answer is in this book.

Save money WITHOUT giving up the little things!

In times of economic distress, we look for simpler ways to live our lives. 101 Recipes for Making Wild Wines at Home: A Step-by-Step Guide is a great way to further one's wine enthusiasm for a fraction of the cost. Blissfully light on drier topics, such as history, the book dives right into working with the basic ingredients.

Without getting too complex, the basic, working knowledge of the ingredients is detailed, one at a time. The author's personal experiences provide a wealth of inside tips and tricks to ease the reader's own attempts at wine-making. The basic knowledge is then expanded upon, for the reader who wants to take the next step, or the novice who can't get enough knowledge about their new craft.

The real juice (no pun intended) of this book is the recipes. Starting with the most basic, the author provides quite the springboard to jump from, gathering confidence as you go through punches, meads, ciders, vegetable wines, grain wines, and herbal wines. The variety of recipes should prove to inspire the reader to create their own wines.

Not always dependable.

This booked seemed very promising due to the wild wine recipes that it contained but when you look a little closer (and more thoroughly than the editor did) you notice that a large amount of the recipes are wrong, don't include where to actually add ingredients that are listed to be needed in the ingredient list, and there is little to no explanation on how to actually make wine. For a long time winemaker this may be a good source to find recipe ideas but I would worry about actually making the specific recipe due to the inconsistency of them. It does a good job at explaining the very very basics...well almost. Look up "Camden tablet" in the index. You would assume since this is an ingredient needed in many a wine recipe including most of the ones in the book, it would take you to a page explaining what a "Camden tablet" is. Instead "Camden Tablet p.137" is the only thing listed which turns out to be a recipe for wine which includes a Camden tablet like the other 100 recipes in the book....nothing else. In another recipe Lemon juice/rind is listed in needed ingredients but nowhere in the recipe does it say where or when to add it. As someone who brews beer, I know things are done at specific times for specific reasons. Little things can alter a recipe drastically. I believe that the author has some really good ideas but his editor needs to pay a little bit better attention to the important things!

A very useful and encouraging book

This book is essentially a grammar manual. It won't teach you the language and it isn't for fun reading. That being said, such books are almost indispensable for any language and can be really useful at about the third year level and higher. To me this book has a number of strong points. First of all, it's fairly well organized which is always nice. Second, while it is complete, it is not overwhelmingly complex and detailed. It gives a pretty complete summary of most grammar points with some good examples, but without going overboard. However, probably the best aspect of the book, to me, is that it clearly gives off the impression, especially to speakers of English, that the language is not overly complex, difficult, or different than English. To be honest, I have always thought that once you get past the different alphabet, and perhaps the lack of a large number of cognates, Arabic is actually quite similar to English and pretty easy for an English-speaker to learn. Unfortunately, many grammar books obscure this fact by dwelling early and too heavily on the regular but complex root and verb system. If one imagines that mastering Arabic involves learning all of the roots and patterns of the language, it becomes one of the most complex languages on the planet. However, most native speakers are not that proficient in these things and don't learn the language by memorizing these patterns overtly. Fortunately, this book balances a bit of that with another good bit of emphasis on syntax. When you look at Arabic from this point of view, it's a lot more like English than you would expect. In summary, this is the kind of grammar manual that will make a student feel like he or she actually knows more than he or she thought and that the few pieces that are left won't be so hard to master.

An outstanding and significant landmark.

Hooray! At last a book about Arabic that makes sense! Even Arabs will tell you that their formal language is difficult. And all textbooks prepared for anglophone students seem to start from this standpoint. They propagate an intimidating socio-intellectual elitist view of the language. But Arabic is not difficult. It may be complex - unnecessarily complex, but it is not difficult. What this book does is restore to Arabic its inherent logic, vitality, and beauty. This is done very simply by methodically defining the underlying structure, and by unashamedly including all the vowels. The forbidding veil of inaccessibility of the purist fusha has been removed. The book is exactly what it says it is: a learner's guide, a guide to get the student confidently started into the scintillating world of Arabia. There is still much to learn, but with this Guide it becomes considerably more reasonable. It represents a significant milestone in the materials available to anglophone students, and an indispensable complement to what they already have. Hopefully, it will become a standard for future such efforts.

A fair bit to like, but lots to be irritated by too. This is not a bad grammar, but it could have been better.

There's a lot to like about this grammar. It's well structured, it's concise, and it's written in a way that's accessible to readers who aren't especially experienced in Arabic or linguistic terminology in general. Although the author doesn't use IPA symbols, I like that he uses standard phonetic terminology to describe the sounds of Arabic. Many books aimed at language learners fail to do this, falling back on ill-conceived impressionistic descriptions. Alhawary avoids this. I also agree with other reviewers who like the connections he makes between Arabic and English in a number of places, helping to demystify the former.

It's disappointing, therefore, that the book is littered with small lapses, which are particularly irritating to readers familiar with linguistic terminology. In the introduction, for example, he confuses the Arabic language with its script, stating (for example) that Arabic is "not a logographic language", but "is a phonetic language". This is a minor thing, but a scholar of language should know better than to use the phrase "phonetic language" at all (let alone "logographic language").

There are more irritations to come. On page 46, for example, he states that "Naturally, there is no dual marking for the first person". (If first-person dual marking is less natural than for other persons, it's news to linguists.) Another example comes from the chapter on sentence structure, in which he describes no fewer than eight Arabic tenses. This really plays fast and loose with the definition of "tense". If the only difference between Tense A and Tense B is the type of accompanying adverbial phrase, then they are not different tenses. Essentially he is listing eight different tense-aspect combinations in English and telling you how to translate them into Arabic. This is fine (and useful), but why doesn't he say that's what he's doing instead of passing them off as Arabic tenses? The way he does it just encourages learners to think of Arabic in terms of English grammar, which is precisely what learners should avoid doing. (By contrast, I feel I should add, the following section on nominal sentences is clear, useful, and well structured.)

As the last example implies, not all the problems are simply irritations for knowledgeable readers. One frustrating problem that reduces the book's usefulness for any reader is a tendency to note different ways of saying the same thing, but not say if such variation involves different shades of meaning, or differences in register (or any other difference beyond the grammatical form). For example, an adverbial construction is described on page 155 that is very similar to the causative attributive adjective. Alhawary notes the similarity, but says nothing about when you might use one instead of the other. If the two constructions are interchangeable, he should say so. The same problem arises when he notes the different tenses that can be used in conditional sentences, but says nothing on when one might prefer one choice of tense over another.

The text would also have benefited from better proof reading. There are a number of minor typos (more than once the word "precedes" is used where "follows" was obviously intended, for example). A more serious problem is that some sentences are very awkwardly expressed, in a few cases to the extent that they are hard to make head or tail of. On page xix, for instance, he states that "Unlike English it [Arabic] exhibits no intonation reflecting the mood of the speaker in order to emphasise certain words for proper speech perception by the native speaker." I'm surprised this got past the editor.

Finally, I was surprised to see the unqualified claim on page 2 that the Arabic numeral system was originally "based on a geometric conceptual design of the number of angles in each number". Appendix A contains a low-resolution diagram (copied from the "ADC Times") demonstrating this idea. Not only is this speculative nonsense, but it is nonsense that a serious scholar of Arabic should really know better than to reproduce in a book for learners, let alone state baldly as fact.

To sum up, this book has enough faults to seriously irritate a knowledgeable reader, and even to mislead a less knowledgeable one. However, the potential for *seriously* misleading anyone is small, and on the whole this is a concise grammar of Arabic that learners will find useful. But it could have been better, and it's a real shame that it's not.

About the Author

Mark Evan Bonds is the Cary C. Boshamer Distinguished Professor of Music at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he has taught since 1992. He holds degrees from Duke University (B.A.), Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel (M.A.) and Harvard University (Ph.D.) His books include Wordless Rhetoric: Musical Form and the Metaphor of the Oration (1991), After Beethoven: Imperatives of Symphonic Originality (1996), Music as Thought: Listening to the Symphony in the Age of Beethoven (2006), and Absolute Music: The History of an Idea (2014). He is the author of numerous essays on the music of Haydn and Mozart, on the nineteenth-century symphony, and on the aesthetics and philsophy of music. He has received grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the American Council of Learned Societies, and the William N. Reynolds Foundation. The fourth edition of his History of Music in Western Culture, a textbook for undergraduate music history suvey courses, was published by Pearson in 2013. The new third edition of Listen to This reflects his experience and dedication to teaching music appreciation to undergraduates for more than 20 years.
