Absolutely fantastic!

She experiences flashbacks of horrible events and is going through hell. She is living her daily trauma over and over, feeling suffocated and lonely. Can she get her sanity and her life back? Someone from her past walked back in her life. Someone she must protect. Danger is lurking in the shadow, watching her in a creepy way and intervening in her life. The unmasking was mind blowing, shocking and very surprising. I feel the adrenaline rush, my breath quickens and my heart races. I couldn't put this book down. What a read! This book deals with the reality of a vet suffering from PTSD. It gives you insight to their struggle. It's a vivid story about survival, pain, strength, hope and a passionate beautifully intense love story. It is a brilliant, captivating and emotional read. Rhavensfyre did an excellent job with describing the PTSD without going overboard. This book is definitely at the top of my reading list.

If you've been craving a good book to read

If you've been craving a good book to read, then stop and pull up a chair. This is the kind of novel that begs to be devoured in one sitting.
I hate reviews that give away the story, so I won't do that here.

Expect a relationship between two strong female characters that starts with a delicious slow burn and builds to fiery climax (no pun intended). Ransom is a fractured soul afraid to let love back into her heart, but unable to deny the growing feelings she has for Victoria. This is the type of character that Rhavensfyre excels at bringing to life. For her part, Victoria is a convincing blend of sophistication and naiveté. More at home in the city than on the farm in Johnsonville, she tends to see the best in people -- even at the risk of her own life.
I could go on, but just take my word for it. This is not one that you want to miss.

I could not put it down with a rollercoaster ride through intrigue and red herrings. SO MUCH FUN

This is clearly a 10 star book. I read this book in one setting as I could not put it down with a rollercoaster ride through intrigue and red herrings. Victoria's struggles past the clichéd damsel in distress and revelation of her true self. Ransom is a wonderful mush well wound and wrapped. In my past reading adventures, I took pride in figuring out "who dunnit" early on in the story. Not this time. It was not until the very end of the book that these very talented writers revealed the real protagonist and the motivation. So well done!! So much fun!! Absolutely delightful ending in true Rhavensfyre style!!

PROFILE OF KENNETH R. PETRUCCI, MSW Kenneth R. Petrucci, MSW, is a psychotherapist with a unique background and distinguished credentials. He earned an Associate’s Degree A.A. in Liberal Arts from the Community College of Rhode Island; a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree B.F.A, with a major in Oral Interpretation from the Speech and Drama Department at the University of Memphis, and a Master’s Degree MSW in Clinical Social Work from the University of Houston. The original printing of Soul’s Eye by Kenneth R. Petrucci is in a library Special Collection status because of its high quality and rarity, making it difficult to replace, thus valuable. Soul’s Eye is being preserved and can be found in the following libraries: John Hay Library at Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island; McWherter Library at the University of Memphis; Hillman Library at the University of Pittsburgh; and located within the Glenn Coffield Papers Collection at the Knight Library, University of Oregon, and Community College of Rhode Island. Ken performed stand-up comedy in his twenties. He has a track record of being an entertaining and provocative guest on radio and TV talk shows, and hosted The Creative Connection, a self-development talk show for four years on KPFT 90.1 FM in Houston, Texas. Before he became known globally for his work as a filmmaker (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly), Julian Schnabel was a painter of works sometimes as large as a movie screen. Although a book cannot replicate the experience of seeing these paintings in person, the book spreads the nearly 200 reproductions generously over its thick glossy pages, each receiving a double-page spread, captioned with just title and date. To give a sense of scale, the book occasionally interrupts a series of paintings with a photograph of the work in location. Eight short essays rush to the defense of their subject, so that his early success with collectors and in the medium of film doesn't tarnish reception of his work. Painter David Salle writes: What set his work apart was his use of fragmented, physically demanding surface, which gave his vision of free association a kind of flickering, tentative quality that insists on the materiality of the painting. An expanded time line at the end of the book does the work of biography while the essays provide segues into the work itself: an interview with Schnabel, a meditation on experience by William Gaddis, a survey of Schnabel's monumental surfing paintings and more. David Moos is Curator of Contemporary Art at the Art Gallery of Ontario. He served as Curator of Contemporary Art at Birmingham Museum of Art, Alabama. In this position he organized the traveling exhibitions: Jonathan Lasker: Selective Identity, William Wegman: Fashion Photographs, and Radcliff Bailey: the Magic City.

A Monograph in Keeping with a Prodigious Artist's Gifts

JULIAN SCHNABEL is a very large scale, hefty book about a hefty artist whose brilliance and contributions to the art world is equally as large - and important. Many people judged his early paintings that incorporated Melmac plates and shards as works that were thumbing his nose at the art world. But following the progress of this artist, that first impression could not have been further from the truth. From the gradual changes in his paintings and the growing sophistication of his exhibitions to the fine films he has created (Before Night Falls, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Basquiat, Lou Reed's Berlin) to the current integration of photography and painting - all make strong statements both visually and philosophically.

Schnabel is never less than interesting, even to the toughest of critics. This very excellent book edited by David Moos (and Schnabel!), and with informative essays by Gian Enzo Sperone and Marco Voena covers the spectrum of Schnabel's life from his birth in 1951 to the present. Even the most devoted fan of his artistic output will be impressed with the photographs of exhibitions - with comments scrawled across the pages from Schnabel himself - and with the newest works, including the girls with no eyes series and the stunning Japanese paintings of wispy floating multifaceted figures suspended above an aqueous matrix.

Though there have been many books published about this amazingly gifted artist, few are as complete as this. The quality of reproductions and the depth of information would be difficult to match. A collector item in book form. Grady Harp, July 09

a book about an art work we have to think about

I bought this book because the is something intellectually exciting in Schnabel's work. Certainly we have something to learn about his paintings. Schnabel goes beyond all the rules we learned about what is and not is art, what can be and can not be done in art. This beautiful and well designed book has a hundred and more great reproductions of his paintings so we can follow his highly personal artistic output. There is some essays too that try, with some success, to shed a light on this unique artistic thought. I recommend specially the reading the texts by David Moos, David Moos & Bruce Fergunson, and David Salle. There is also a very good interview, produced by David Moos & Louise Neri, with the artist exposing his thoughts and beliefs on painting. We may agree or not with him, understand or not, but it's a way to get closer to this powerful art maker.

Not suitable for a modern audience

I had considered directing this at a community theatre in Sydney. It is not suitable for our audiences. They wouldn't be able to follow it and would find the actions and motivations unbelievable. The only conceivable audience would be academic experts and they would spend their time complaining about all the things I got wrong, in spite of the copious notes at the back.
